as the summer draws to a close serge devant returns once more to damian lazaruss crosstown rebels with the highly infectious this moment ep. serge original tracks are accompanied by a great dinky remix, to complete this great package. opening up the ep with this moment, devant has created a track that implores the listener to stop and take in all the vibrations, effects and melodies. this is a piece of music that intricately weaves together a hefty bass, curious sounds and an addictive horn. pay close attention to in time and you will be absorbed once more in an enchanting world where all you can do is follow the rhythm of the drums. on the flip and dinky adds her signature vocals, and hooky synth stabs creating a deep and textural remix of this moment.

opilec music is back with this special va signed by the cosmic acclaimed italian disco stars daniele baldelli & marco dionigi. both are regular remixers at the label and close friends to gianluca i-robots pandullo. having never been released before on vinyl these tracks show their unique style, and their ability to be reworked into a modern sound. 1980 s gogogo by the swiss electronic pioneers schaltkreis wassermann is taken from the classic psychotron album produced by pj & stella (r.i.p) wassermann, which has recently been re-released by private records germany.

lars von licht’s -from arrows“ is exactly one of this sort: an almost 15min live jam, both simple and sophisticated. a track for special moments and for special people, perfect for reanimating supérieur. one of the frst persons whom i gave this tune last year s summer was lee burridge, who played it straight away at burning man. admittedly, this release took some time, but we wanted to fnd the right moment and the right remixer. we considered many options but came back to one of our own people in the end. dodi palese who released his connaisseur debut earlier this year, felt like the right person to challenge this track and we were right. he has transformed it into a tribalistic high energy bomb, with an unexpected, big synth theme, blowing you away. yes, we are more than happy about this release and it was well worth the wait.

if anything, stojche’s take on detroit inspired techno rarely requires your permission for engagement. the fifth installment of his own label, tangible assets, is no different. this singular producer always manages to conjure up otherworldly atmospheres that resonate from head to feet. with that said, we could spend the next three paragraphs throwing around adjectives and splashing colorful words all over this press release regarding his sound, the aesthetic within each track in this release, and we could even volunteer a side helping of words that somehow make sense of this young producers studio ability. one thing however is for certain. tang005’s true charm lies in its ability to capture an honesty and sincerity that’s as captivating as it is transcendent. there’s a clinical yet organic approach that stojche adopts time and time again in formulating his tangible asset releases, and if anything, tang005 should provide further evidence of his depth, maturity and innate ability to create enchantment. this record is wrapped in captivating moments born from flourishing stabs, twilight synths, rolling charges of calculated manic rhythms and subatomic motions living within a range of intricately programmed beats. add to that a host of cinematic sweeps that develop into harmonic clouds of melancholy and you’re one step closer to the true romance etched within the grooves of this record. once again, stojche has created an ep that catalyses imagination. a series of intense voyages with thoughtfully considered moments and movements that have been executed by a man well in tune with his craft.

• umek reprises his zeta reticula moniker for a welcome return to billy nasty’s electrix label with an innovative ep comprised of 4 new tracks, split between the two spheres of electro and techno. the slovenian-born dj and producer should need no introduction, boasting more than two decades of experience, playing the world over, producing music for labels like toolroom, spinnin’, great stuff, intec or his own imprint, 1605 to name just a few, or presenting his hugely popular weekly radio show, behind the iron curtain. it’s been some time since a zeta reticula release on electrix, with ‘ep 1’ to ‘ep 4’ surfacing on the label between 2000 and 2003, although umek has continued the project more recently with tracks on 1605. the a-side of ‘ep 5’ delivers some electro flavour, opening with the serious electro-funk of ‘electric blood complete’, before the vintage sci-fi electronics and playful rave stabs of ‘euphonious’. over on the b-side the techno takes over with the deep and dub-drenched ‘encroach’ followed by the tough housey grooves of ‘radiate’ to complete this bold package.

for over five years, all day i dream has been where deep and emotive meet house music. propelled by a community of forward thinking artists drawn around the scion of master curator and sunset/sunrise set specialist, lee burridge. all day i dream formally welcomes lost desert to the label with the release of lingala, a two-track collaborative effort with burridge himself, that also features junior on vocals. lost desert was picked out of obscurity after burridge discovered his music while trekking in a remote area of a long lost land. a fast forged friendship inevitably lead to the studio, and lingala’s the enrapturing sophomore result. the duo’s first project together debuted on lee’s night time imprint, get weird, earlier this year to widespread support. lingala, is a beautifully composed ten-minute sonic journey. built around a mystical lead vocal sung by newcomer junior in his native linagles the raw emotion slowly builds in intensity over propulsive basslines and deep melodic grooves . gorje hewek & izhevski’s interpretation of lingala is a markedly different affair. focussing on musical layers rather than the vocal the duo’s signature spacey atmospheres and minimal rhythmic percussion add extra strings creating uplifting moments that contrast the original’s mood.
